Time of Paradigm Shift
If you have been sensing that something in the world of healing is changing, you are not imagining it. Across the field of mental health, many clinicians are moving toward private pay practice, and not for reasons of convenience. They are moving because they recognize, as I do, that we are living through a paradigm shift in how we understand healing itself.
The older model asks: What is wrong with you, and how quickly can it be resolved? The emerging paradigm asks: Who are you becoming, and what conditions does that becoming require?
Many practitioners, especially those trained in depth oriented, somatic, and holistic modalities, are choosing private pay because it allows them to remain sustainably present with fewer clients and greater depth, rather than holding a high volume caseload that erodes the very presence that makes therapy transformative. They are choosing it to protect the integrity and confidentiality of the therapeutic relationship, keeping the container between two people rather than shaped by a third party's review. And they are choosing it because the scope of what insurance was designed to hold (acute, symptom based care) was never meant to carry the deeper journeys so many of us are on: spiritual emergence, grief as a rite of passage, the reclamation of consciousness and creativity, the return to inner authority.
None of this is a criticism of insurance based care, which remains an important and valid resource. It is simply a recognition that different instruments serve different purposes. If you have wondered why a growing number of therapists are making this choice, it is because the depth of the work demands it, and because your healing deserves conditions built for depth.
Choosing care is an investment many women weigh carefully, and I want to honor that openly. Whatever path you choose, you deserve to understand what you are choosing, and why.
Welcome
If you are wondering why I offer a private pay practice, I welcome your questions.
In my own healing, I began choosing private pay providers because I wanted care that invested in my awareness and my growth. I wanted a practitioner who was curious about who I was becoming, not one searching for pathology or tracking symptoms to fit a diagnosis. A diagnosis rarely celebrates our gifts or honors the growth we are already living.
That is the same care I want to offer you. When you work with me privately, our time together is devoted to your awareness, your growth, and your whole self. So much of what we long to heal is never addressed by insurance: a spiritual awakening, the journey of reclaiming your consciousness, and the return to your creativity as a conscious creator. In a private pay practice, all of who you are is welcome here.

Frequently Asked Questions
When we work outside of the insurance system, we remove the requirement for a diagnosis to justify care. Our time together is not defined by a checklist of symptoms or a treatment plan shaped by external benchmarks. Instead, the container is held entirely by your rhythm, your needs, and your unique journey back to wholeness.
No. In this space, we do not need to label your grief, your stress, or your struggles as disorders in order to work with them. We can simply meet them with the depth they deserve.
This approach honors your capacity to seek support when you need it, without requiring external validation or approval. It keeps our work intuitive, confidential, and guided by what best supports your whole self, empowering sustainable transformation from the inside out. This freedom allows us to move beyond symptom management and into a deeper reorganization of the nervous system and the soul, where nothing is broken and nothing needs fixing, only remembering.
Yes. Many women come to an Intensive while continuing their weekly individual therapy elsewhere, and it can be a beautiful complement to that work.
I provide information for you to share with your current therapist, so they understand what took place and how it can support the ongoing rhythm of your care. Your healing is not a competition. Different containers can hold different seasons, and collaboration between practitioners is a gift to your process.
Because the nervous system does not reorganize in fifty minute increments.
Weekly sessions are a meaningful rhythm, and they serve many women well. But some transformations ask for something more spacious: sustained time, unhurried attention, and enough safety for the body to soften into deeper layers of held experience. An Embodied Somatic Therapy Intensive, 6 to 7 hours devoted to your journey in a single immersion, offers what scattered appointments cannot. The depth accumulates rather than resetting at each goodbye, and insight has room to move from understanding into embodiment.
This is not a standard session stretched across hours. It is a sacred container where time dissolves into what your body and nervous system need to process, release, and remember. Over the course of one day, we move through phases of deepening, expression, release, and integration. You are supported at every moment. You are held. And you come out knowing yourself differently.
This is where I have witnessed the most profound shifts with the women I serve. When a full arc of morning, integration, and afternoon unfolds together, the work moves at the speed of your nervous system rather than the clock. The investment is in a greater transformation than short weekly sessions can typically reach: not managing symptoms over time, but reorganizing the foundation underneath them, where your body's intelligence can finally exhale and remember its own rhythm.
An Intensive is not a replacement for weekly therapy. It is an invitation to go deeper, faster, with more support, for the woman who feels ready to meet herself in that way. Some women come when the weekly hour keeps stopping short. Some choose the day because more can be accessed, integrated, and released. All paths are welcome.
Yes. Embodied Somatic Therapy Intensives are offered through my private pay practice, so the same freedom applies: no diagnosis required, no external benchmarks, only your rhythm and your needs guiding the day.
You may be able to use a Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) card to pay for therapy sessions and Therapy Intensives directly through my secure Jane platform. These cards are generally accepted for psychotherapy services, and the receipts provided through Jane include all required provider information, including my NPI. I do not communicate directly with FSA administrators regarding reimbursement, but the transaction itself is processed as a qualified medical expense if your plan covers mental health services.
Every plan has its own requirements. Some FSA and HSA plans ask for a letter of medical necessity or a diagnosis code before they will cover therapy, so I recommend checking with your plan administrator about what they require before your first session or Intensive.
I do not submit claims to insurance companies, and I do not provide superbills for out of network reimbursement.
I honor whatever you choose as best for you. Insurance based therapy is a valid and wise path, and having access to those services is an important resource. Choosing that route is a meaningful act of caring for yourself.
I am licensed as an independent clinical social worker in Massachusetts, California, and Arizona. Holistic Psychotherapy and Embodied Somatic Therapy Intensives are offered by secure telehealth to women who live in those states.
Integrative Health Clarity Consulting, groups, and seasonal gatherings are educational, and they are open globally.
Wherever You Land
Whether you choose insurance based therapy, private pay therapy, or an Embodied Somatic Therapy Intensive using an FSA or HSA, your willingness to seek support is already a profound act of honoring yourself. If you have questions about the FSA process, or if you would simply like to share where you are leaning, I am here.
